The Bh Cosmetics Foil Eyes Palette

Today I bring you my first real “official” blog post on Kate’s Vanity! Finally! Right? I’m so sorry for the delay. I really wanted to postΒ a lot sooner, but then life came up and sometimes it kind of gets in the way. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Or if you’re not from the US, then a great Thursday!

I bought the Bh Cosmetics Foil Eyes palette last month. This palette contains 28 very colorful and eye catching shadows. These shadows are a mixture of shimmer and metallic shades. A few do contain glitter. The packaging is plastic with a clear cover as you can see in the picture above. I have ordered other products from Bh Cosmetics before, and they’re usually great for the price. However, as with any brand, it can be hit or miss.

When I first swatched these shadows, it was love at first sight! They swatched so beautifully, felt so smooth, and appeared to be very pigmented. Before I tell you my thoughts on the palette, take a look at the pictures of swatches down below. I swatched these with my finger without any primer, only swatching 1-2 times each…

These look like a dream don’t they? Well when it came to actually applying these on my eyelids with a brush, I was a bit disappointed. They’re weren’t very pigmented at all. I thought, “What am I doing wrong?” So, I used my finger to pat it on my eyelids which helped a lot. I feel like it’s hard to evenly cover my eyelid though with just patting with my finger. I also tried spraying my brush with setting spray, which really helped out a lot. It actually looks really pretty doing it that way.

I wouldn’t say these shadows are very lasting either. Better to just try to wear them for an evening out or something. It’s such a shame though that this palette didn’t turn out how I thought it would. Swatching with your fingers doesn’t always mean that’s how it’s going to swatch with your brush, unfortunately. I don’t have any pictures of this shadow applied to my eyes like I had wanted to. I just wasn’t really feeling my eye look with it.

I paid $12 for this palette, which is extremely affordable. For that price, I am willing to work with it. Today for Cyber Monday, Bh Cosmetics has 80% off of their site. This palette is currently only $7 today! I feel like it’s a great time to try some things you might not be sure about. If you would like to visit there site, click HERE.

I could’ve gone into how many grams each shadow has and how much each shadow is worth…but I’m not going to. Like I said, it’s a very affordable palette. Have any of you tried this palette or any other Bh Cosmetics’ palettes before? If so, which ones? Let me know in the comments! I hope you all have a great week!

  1. FINALLY, a real post! πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜€
This palette looks like a PARTY in eye shadow form! Too bad they swatch better than they perform. I think these kinds of eye shadows would benefit from using those sponge applicators that come with some eye shadow palettes (those cheapo ones). The sponge applicators can pack on a lot of colour!
I did finally succumb to a BH Cosmetics palette that I saw at Winners (our version of TJ Maxx). It was a smokey palette and I’m crossing my fingers they perform well. But, it only cost me $13 for 28 shades so… very affordable. $7 for this palette is INSANE.

    1. Haha! I know right?! Sorry I haven’t been very active on here. I had a medical procedure last week and have been recovering. Yeah I was really hoping this would be a hidden gem. The Galaxy Chic palette is great though. I also have the Carli Bybel one and the Shanaaxo one. I agree with you about the sponge applicators. I use mine sometimes lol. Bh Cosmetics is always having sales on their site. πŸ™‚

  2. Wow what a great price they’re discounted to today! I’m going to take a look and see what shipping is like to get it here I haven’t tried any bh cosmetics stuff yet but have wanted to!
For the price it doesn’t seem too bad, and for colours like these I wouldn’t use all that often I could definitely work with them! Reminds me of the urban decay spectrum palette!

    1. I haven’t checked where they ship to. I probably should have for this post. I really like their brushes as well! ❀ The Galaxy Chic palette is really great! I also have the Carli Bybel and Shanaaxo palettes as well. I haven’t played with those ones too much yet even though I’ve had them for a while. I also like their lipstick, just the plain regular ones. They really are a great a brand though πŸ™‚

  3. I love the bright shimmery colours and as you say how affordable, this palette is. Such a shame these didn’t apply as nicely as when you swatched them but I’m glad you found a work around with the setting spray. Welcome back to posting officially, it’s so good to have you back! x

    1. I’m excited! Haha! Yeah, it really varies from palette to palette. Their baked shadows are nice. At least from my experience with the Galaxy Chic palette. I did both of those things. It especially works well with setting spray. xx

  4. The colours look nice! And the size of the palette too seems good for the price with larger eye shadow pans as compared to other same priced pallets out there. But, it’s such a dissappointment to know that these aren’t that great!
Bhi cosmetics have good make in small prices usually.
Anyway, Congrats for your new blog!
    Best of Luck! πŸ‘πŸ»

  5. Yay!!!! Glad to see you on here my dear!!! That palette looks so pretty too bad they didn’t go on as well as the finger swatches. I’ve noticed the true test is brush swatches….I find it hard to apply shadows with my finger tips too. Bummer I’m sorry!:( 80% off sounds like an amazing sale tho!!
